The best bachelor’s degree program in forestry is at ESF, according to study.com.

“With a forestry program that traces back to 1911, and two bachelor’s programs in forestry subjects, it’s easy to see why the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, in Syracuse, New York, ranks at the top of our list of forestry bachelor’s programs,” reviewers at study.com noted.

“We produce exactly what defines being the ‘The Best Bachelor Degree Program in Forestry,’ said Dr. Christopher Nowak ’85, chair of the Department of Sustainable Resources Management which encompasses the forestry programs.

The College annually awards nearly $100,000 in scholarships for forestry students, and offers Society of American Foresters-accredited programs taught by award-winning and expert faculty.

“Our teachers are the researchers,” said Nowak, “This means we upgrade what we teach based on what we discover in our scholarly work.”

Study.com researched forestry programs at major colleges and universities to compile the list.

“We don’t strive to be the best program in the country – we just do what we think is right in educating future foresters and other resource managers,” said Nowak. “It is nice to be judged that we are doing it right, and we’ll continue to do what we think is right in teaching foresters.”
