The ESF College Foundation has established a new recognition program — the ESF Loyalty Society, which recognizes the commitment and contributions of donors who make the ESF College Foundation part of their philanthropy year after year.
Loyalty Society membership was granted to over 1,000 supporters. Gift history was taken into account, with members’ consecutive giving ranging from three to 37 years. Membership is based solely on donations during consecutive fiscal years, which run from July 1 to June 30. There is no minimum donation requirement.
Lynn Erla Beegle ’80 has been an Annual Fund donor for 37 consecutive years. Her reason for loyal giving is straightforward: “We plant trees for the benefit of future generations. We donate to the ESF College Foundation for the same reason.”
George Curry, Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus, said the College’s mission is his reason for remaining a loyal donor. “I support ESF scholarships, research and the ESF community in general because of the College’s mission to protect and enhance both the natural and built environment,” he said. “It is rewarding to support the College as it is a unique place of environmental higher education. Its graduates and the new environmental knowledge and skills developed by the faculty are both inspiring!”
According to Brenda Greenfield, executive director of the ESF College Foundation and Loyalty Society member, “The dedication of Loyalty Society donors provides a critical and reliable foundation of support for ESF students and academic programs. Loyalty Society donors have an incredible impact on the ESF community. We cannot thank them enough for their dedicated support.”
